msfa: the DX7 engine
The FM sound of the emulator on this site (and of our host simulator) is msfa, the DX7 engine of Google's music-synthesizer-for-android, as maintained in Dexed and Synth_Dexed. It is compiled into /emu/groove-audio.wasm.

algorithms we implemented
Our own code, after these published designs:
- Freeverb, by Jezar at Dreampoint (public domain): the emulator's ROOM and HALL reverbs.
- J. Dattorro, “Effect Design, Part 1: Reverberator and Other Filters” (JAES, 1997): the emulator's PLATE reverb.
- R. Bristow-Johnson's audio EQ cookbook: the emulator's FILTER.
- A. Szabo, “How to Emulate the Super Saw” (2010): the VA engine's SUPER oscillator.
- A. Simper's trapezoidal state-variable filter: the VA engine's filters.
M-VAVE and FM-1 are their owners' names. See also the OS in your browser.
