Effects on every track, and a studio-style mix.

    Effects on every track

    Every track has four effects of its own: DRIVE, CRUSH, FILTER and SLICER, on VA and FM sounds and on drum kits. Press FX and the selected track's effects open.

    Grit on the bass, a crushed kit, a filter sweep on the keys, the lead sliced on the beat. MIX marks every track that has one on.

    A studio-style mix

    Each track has a REVERB send and a DELAY send, and every drum pad can have its own. The bass stays dry while the chords sit in the room and the lead gets an echo.

    HOME + FX opens MAIN FX: the shared reverb and delay, the echoes into the reverb if you like, then FILTER, Groove's own DRIVE, CHORUS and PHASER on the whole mix.

New

  • DICE settings per track: how busy and how wide a line moves, or how much kick, snare, hats and percussion.

Improved

  • DRIVE is Groove's own now, on the whole mix: warm at a low GAIN, gritty turned up, and it never clips to a wall.
  • On TRACKS, FX on the TIME row opens MAIN FX, as it does on MIX's MAIN strip.
  • The arpeggiator takes a new chord on its next step, in time, without cutting the note that plays.
  • New drum tracks start dry, and new sound tracks with a little reverb and delay.
  • Installing 1.3 ends with a short extra step that finishes the update.

Fixed

  • A note could keep sounding after browsing sound banks, until the next save. It stops when it should now.
  • In a heavy song the FM-1 could thin out its VA sounds and stay that way. Busy songs play at full strength again.
  • With FILL held on an 8-bar drum track in a very long loop, the FM-1 could stop when the loop came round.
  • A VA kit clap cut by its choke while it was still clapping kept a voice busy until the next song load.
  • Songs made with a sound pack in the start-up bank save and open reliably (1.2.4's fix, included).

Your projects

Your saved projects, the autosave, your settings and banks A to D carry over. Old songs load with both sends at their old SEND and sound as before, with two things to check. DRIVE is Groove's own now and works on the whole mix: an old song's DRIVE sounds smoother and can come out quieter, so turn its LEVEL up (80 is the level as it was), and GAIN to taste. CHORUS and PHASER take the whole mix too: if an old song's PHASER or CHORUS sounds too strong now, turn its MIX down.
